Our aim is to provide an affordable low cost cataract surgery option for uninsured patients, and in doing so help improve access to timely health care in our region.
OUR PROCESS
Cataract surgery is generally a straightforward procedure where the cloudy lens in your eye is replaced with a clear intraocular lens (IOL). The goal is to improve your vision, and in many cases, reduce your dependence on glasses or contact lenses, depending on the type of lens chosen.
Cataract surgery can be a life-changing procedure that significantly improves quality of life.
Your journey starts with an initial consultation with an optometrist, which we offer at no cost, to assess if cataract surgery is right for you.
If you choose to go ahead with surgery, we’ll take measurements to determine the best lens type and strength for your eyes. The choice of lens will be based on your eye health and your personal vision goals. Before the surgery, you'll have another appointment with the surgeon to review your options and provide informed consent.
We are happy to see patients referred by Queensland Health.
